I was wondering if it's possible to make a dress' train longer? Mine has a sweep train and I'd like it to be somewhat longer. I've heard of people making their train shorter but never longer. It's from David's Bridal, if that changes things.

I think it has to be ordered with a longer train. I don't think there's much that can be done once its already made

I've never heard of being able to extend a train, but you can always go for a cathedral veil, that will give the same effect as a train, a beautiful long trailing look.

One dress shop consultant told me they could but she said it is expensive I totally agree with the cathedral veil, that is my plan but I guess it is worth asking a good seamstress!

This! I can see it being extremely expensive...and there could be problems matching fabric and lace, not to mention obtaining it. Call Tailoring by Rosie and ask her.

Wedding dress train
I think I might be picking a different dress :(. I put some money down on one at David's Bridal which is beautiful and very me but I want a longer train and a corset and maybe a sweetheart neckline. i think thats way too much to change on a dress when I can keep searching for one that has what I want.
Thanks ladies!

Hi! My bridal consultant did say I had the option of extending my train, but there is a fee. It does need to be ordered that way though. I have a sweetheart neckline, a corset dress, and a long train - so you can definitely find that style! It's pretty much all I tried on. It wasn't what I originally wanted, but I kept turning to that style. Good luck!!
