How much time before your wedding should you go dress shopping? I'm so nervous to do it. Any suggestions on places to go?

Re: Wedding Dresses
i would think like 9-12 months, you may want to give time to wait for next styles to come out...some girls get them earlier, its really up to you

Re: Wedding Dresses
Some designers need at least a year prior to your wedding. Others are shorter. I would start looking asap b/c you dont know how long it will take until you find 'the one!'

I didn't really go by any time frame. I just started shopping shortly after the engagement, so about a year and a half before the wedding. I figured it didn't hurt to look.

Re: Wedding Dresses
I just ordered my dress yesterday, it depends on the designer . My dress will take at least 9 months to come in and then your fittings which takes about two months before the wedding.
But a friend of mine is getting married this October and still doesn't have a dress. I would be freaking out but its not a big deal for her I guess.

I already bought mine, I was too excited to wait! How did your shopping experience go? Did you find THE dress?

Dress shopping was great. It was ironic I found a dress that I LOVED that another girl on the boards tried on the day before and loved. I think it is the one but i want to look around. I don't want to limit myself. It is a freaky experience. AHH, Stil getting used to being engaged. How is your dress? Was it the type of dress you would have thought before you went shopping?
