how far in advance did everyone buy their wedding dresses?

About a year and a month out. I didn't mean to buy one so soon but I was pressured in to dress shopping and found the one!

almost exactly a year before the date.
I really could have waited, but my favorite designer was having a trunk show (at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset, which I love) so I didn't want to risk waiting for the next one, which could have been too late to order.

about a year. i ordered a maggie and they take around 8 months to come in.

I got mine about a year and half b4 the date just bc it happen to be the exact thing i was looking for - so why wait you know plus it takes 9 months to make so I wanted to be safe.

i am so bad about four months (sept )before the wedding. we only started planning in august we booked the hall. and i think it was the next thing i did. it will be here any day now!!!!

about 11 months.

i had gone shopping immediately after, and found two i loved. i slept on it for a few months, and am so glad i did!

I haven't started looking yet. :( I am getting married next november. When do you think is the lastest I can order my dress? I want to lose weight first!!

I got mine in Feb (for my April wedding - so 14 months?). It's nice to get it out of the way and not have that pressure but at the same time, a year is a LONG time and there's a whole fashion season or two where new stuff will come out so I would recommend waiting to actually purchase until about 9 months before unless you try something on and it just knocks your socks off.
