I am planning to start looking for wedding gowns this week and am not sure where to start looking. I am in Suffolk County. Can anyone recommend a place that was friendly and helpful with a good selection? Thanks!

Re: Wedding Dresses...where to start?
I liked Demetrios at the Smith Haven Mall. Was a little overwhelmed by the salespeople at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue, but their selection is pretty good.

I purchased mine at Casi Di Mario on Main Street in Patchogue. They have a nice selection and they were very helpful.

Re: Wedding Dresses...where to start?
I found my gown at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa but I knew exactly what dress I wanted and that was the only shop on LI that carried it.
I have to say I liked the selection that Adrienne's had in Islip. I knew I wanted a mermaid/trumpet gown and they had A LOT of styles in that silhouette.

I found my dress at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue, very friendly & nice. Everyone there is wonderful, they all make you feel very comfortable.
I never felt pressured at all! They were all so patient & very accomodating. It's been great so far! Also, they have a very big selection too!

Re: Wedding Dresses...where to start?
I would recommend Village Bridal in Babylon, Demetrious in Smithaven and Bridal Suite in Centereach. I would also start looking online and get a idea what you may like. I printed out some styles I liked and gave it to the salons so they can get an idea what dresses may be good for you. Also I would highly recommend trying on things that you aren't sure if they would look good or not...you may be pleasantly surprised. I did that and found 'the one'. Good Luck!

I got mine at Paradise and had a very good experience so far with them also... The lady that helped me was supposed to leave at 3:30 and stayed with my until 6pm...She was very sweet.

Re: Wedding Dresses...where to start?
Village Bridal in Babylon was a good start because they really let my mother and I just go through the racks. I was able to get ideas of fabrics and shapes I liked. However, they didn't help me at all in the dressing room and just didn't provide that overall 'I'm a bride and being taken care of' experience that other places provided. A good first starting point for me, but better service and ambiance elsewhere!

I went to Helen's Bridal in Wedding World in Commack...I had a GREAT experience and ordered my gown from them.
I am going back this weekend with my mom to see what they have for her. I live in Selden so it was pretty convenient for me.

I also had a great experience at Demetrios in SMith Haven Mall Macy's and bought my dress there. Before you go shopping I would look through the bridal mags and online to get an idea of what you like. That way you have a starting point
