Wedding Favors?

We have decided to make a donation to the American Cancer Society for our favors( My Dad, Stepmother, and FMIL all have/had cancer). I was going to put hersheys hugs and kisses in tulle and attach this poem to it.

Hugs and Kisses we give to you,
and something special in honor of you too.
Though we had many ideas in store,
we went with something that meant much more.
We really wanted to do our part,
so we made a donation with love in our hearts.

A donation has been made to
The American Cancer Society in your honor.

Do you think this is a good idea? Thanks!

I do not mean to be rude, but i reread the peom, and - this is only input, don't take it personally - the second line reads quite long. Would you consider ? - only input - like I said, I love it

One of my ideas was to give a donation as well (FH veto'd that idea!) If I had done it thogh I think that poem would be perfect!

I think it is beautiful gesture. My FH had asked his uncle to be his BM, he had been battling cancer for many years. He passed one year to the day prior to our wedding. I was thinking about doing something like that. Favors are a nice gesture but sometimes you just don't know what to do with all the chachkas (sp?)
