My mom said she wants me to purchase at least 30 extra wedding favors for her family and friends who are not invited to the wedding.
For the size family I have, I am having a small wedding. We purposely booked a room with a max capacity of 140 so we could get out of having to invite 4th cousins twice removed.
So, my mom said that since some of her family may send gifts (some already gave us an engagement present), that I should send them a wedding favor when I make-out my thank-you cards.
She also said she wants to give them to people who she would have invited if there was room.
I think this is EXTREMELY tacky. It's like saying 'Gee, I didn't think you were important enough to invite to my wedding, here is a consolation prize'.
Your thoughts?

Re: Wedding Favors for Non-Invitees
I would agree with you on the tacky comment. People send gifts because its been sent to their daughters/sons or because it will be. They're not looking for a little gift. Just my honest opinion.

IMO!! I wouldn't want to receive a wedding favor unless I was invited
