As the subject line indicates, I am unsure whether I should order enough favors give to each guest, or enough favors to give to each couple. I've been to weddings where each person gets their own favor, and I've been to weddings where each couple gets one favor. My favors, if I'm lucky, will probably be between $6 and $7 each so as you can imagine, it will add up. Advice?

I think it depends on what the favor is...but majority of the weddings I've been to, they gave out one favor per couple. We are planning on giving out wine as a favor, so we will probably do one per couple unless we can find the mini bottles.

I am doing one per couple. with over 200 people invited to our wedding, there is no way i can afford that many favors.

we are doing a donation but also making personalized cds. we are doing 1 per placecard actually. so mostly one per couple

We are doing cookies, which will be 1 per person. we're also doing magnets - 1 per couple (because there's 1 fridge for each LOL)

I think it depends on what your favors are. If you are spending $6-$7 on the favor then I think 1 per couple is sufficient. I've been to weddings where it has been one per person and one per couple and it really just depends on what the favor is. For example, last week FH and I received a set of 4 coasters (1 favor per couple). A wedding we went to last month we received 1 large bottle of wine. We went to a wedding last year and each received a bottle of wine (1 white, and 1 red) but they were smaller. Another wedding last year the couple made a donation and we each received a cookie. HTH

If you're doing one favor per couple, how do you distribute them? I am doing ice cream scoops and I don't think it will work tying them to the place cards, but I also don't think I can just put a bunch on each table and assume people will figure out each couple gets 1. Thanks!

Hand them out as the guests leave. Or assign a BM or GM to hand them out at the door. Someone from the hall may even be willing to hand them out at the door.

HOW BOUT PUTTING THEM INTHE MIDDLE OF THE TABLE IN A VASE OR SOMETHING WITH A LITTLE POEM NEXT TO IT THAT SAYS TO TAKE ONE PER COUPLE?? IF I COME UP WITH SOMETHING CATCHY ILL LET U KNOW

At $6 to $7 you can get away with one per couple. If you leave just enough on the table for each couple, I think they'll get the idea not everyone gets one. You can also have your MC announce that favors are per couple.
