As the subject line indicates, I am unsure whether I should order enough favors give to each guest, or enough favors to give to each couple. I've been to weddings where each person gets their own favor, and I've been to weddings where each couple gets one favor. My favors, if I'm lucky, will probably be between $6 and $7 each so as you can imagine, it will add up. Advice?

We're one per person. It's a little tin of mints, personalized with our names and the date of our wedding. We're doing one per person only because I was able to find this awesome favor company (found them at the Stationery Show at the Javits in May), and sign up for them through my retail store. I'm getting my personalized favors for under $2 each. You just have to stick the labels on yourself. I have an account with them, so if anyone wants me to do this for them, FM me. I would put the favors on the table somehow...We're putting them at each place setting. I don't know how you would do it for one per couple though.

As far as giving them out if you are doing by couple, you can still put them on the table. You just need to have the appropriate # per couple. If there is a single or two singles at a table, then you would put the additional favor for each of them. The wedding we were just at had 5 favors on a table for 10. It was pretty clear and each couple took one.

If you're doing one favor per couple, how do you distribute them? I am doing ice cream scoops and I don't think it will work tying them to the place cards, but I also don't think I can just put a bunch on each table and assume people will figure out each couple gets 1. Thanks!
You give your RH the number of favors for each table...lets say you have 4 couples and 2 singles for a total of 10, you would put out 6 favors on that table.

My situ is a little different, but here's what I'm doing: I have 4 favors: #1 Table placecard votive holders (will be in the hall or CH?)(1/couple) #2 Sachets (placed on tables)(1/per person) #3 Table pedestal votives (placed on table)(1/couple) #4 Lenox Heart (placed on tables)(1/couple)
Where ever the Placecard votive holders are going to be there will also be a basket of mini-bags (a DIY project I didn't start yet) I bought plain white handled bags, 2 different types of stamps w/angel & hearts, 2 colors for ink, blank label tags (I have to print) & ribbon to attach tags with. On the tags it will say something about Thank you favors & a list...AND maybe even a little sign that says please take one bag per couple.
It may sound confusing, but I want to make sure the guests didn't leave the stuff behind because of not enough hands....

Re: Wedding favors: one per person or one per couple?
I think it depends on what the favors are:
Cookies/candy-one per person
Bigger favors/crystal/wine bottles etc-per couple
placecard holder picture frames- per person HTH
