How much do you give if the bride/groom is: -a co-worker/friend -close family/close friend
How much do you give if you are in the wedding party?
Does day wedding/night wedding influence your decision?

Our standard has usually been $300. For close friends family we usually give $400/$500
We've never had the day/night thing influence our decisions - becuase the only daytime wedding i went to was my aunts when i was 14 and my parents gave the gift. But I probably wouldn't let it influence my decision much
The only time we've given less than $300 was when we went to Florida for a wedding - we gave $200

I was in a wedding and gave $230, it was exactly the cost of our plates. We paid for everything to be in the wedding, plus we gave her a gift at her bridal shower. Not to mention we traveled to maine for both shower and wedding, staying over both times.

I honestly have given based on how well I know someone. Like we gave more to FH's best friend (he was also the Best Man), than at a casual ex-neighbor of mine (who treated my sister like crap when she did her hair for her wedding).
I always seem to find out how much the couple spent on per plate lol. We've given anywhere from $100-300.

For close friends we usually give around $300.. We went to a wedding for people we barely know (we were b-listers lol) and we gave I think $150 or $200. Give what you can afford. And to me, I would never expect a gift from a bridal party member.. They're already spending so much money to be in the party to begin with.

I usually give $150-300 depending if i go by myself or with my FH comes with me. if its someone we are close with we will do on the higher side to cover our plates and some , if its someone we are okay with we will just cover our plates

I give $150 for myself and $300 for myself and FH. I don't base it on the cost of the plate, location/state, the day of the week or the time of day. For family, I give more - I normally spend more money on a shower gift for someone I am really close to and/or family. My brother's wedding is coming up and we will give them $750.
