Wedding gift oppinions needed!

One of my friends is getting married next week and I'm getting married next month. I'm in her wedding party and she's in mine. The question is, I know she really wants only money for her wedding, but I feel weird about giving her just a check because I know it will just end up coming back to me in a month. Should I get her a gift instead? Or should I give her a check for a lesser amount and buy a gift also?

I dont know if your would feel comfortable bringing this up to her...but I have 2 close friends who also got married this year...2 of us were each others BMs. The 3 of use decided not to give each other $$ for the weddings but to just give shower gifts. No one seemed to be offended and it was a huge burden lifted for all of us. If money is not the issue then I say give what you would give normally if u werent getting married.

Give her a check and yes it will come back but at the shower and/or engagement party you can give her a gift that is special. Also the bachlorette party - you can help make that a great memorable experience.

Wedding gift opinions needed!

My friend said her FI wanted to register for a DVD player, but she thought it would be tacky to do so. (I don't think so), but I looked and they hadn't registered for one. So I told her we would get one for them. Her FI was so happy. Maybe we'll get one for ours.
