wedding gift question...WWYD?

wedding gift question...WWYD?

Ok so your DH's coworker and his fiancee came to your wedding, gave you $250. Now you get an invite to their wedding and you can't go due to a conflict you have that day. Do you:

1- give the same amount back and send w/ the no response

2- give less? if so what amount is appropriate?

This is my dilemma so any input would be helpful!

ok i mean i was thinking that but then some other people i talked to made the argument since they do not have to cover our plates at the RH since we are not going, we shouldnt have to give the same. but this is why im grateful for the advice!!!

I don't think you have to give the same amount if you're not attending the wedding. You aren't covering a plate.

I went to a someone's e-party at a restaurant and gave $250. They were invited to my e-party, but couldn't make it bc they had a destination wedding the same weekend. They sent us $100. Can I be honest? If I were you, I would give them at least half of what they gave you. I think if you gave $150 or $200 you'd be fine. I really wouldn't give them less than that, if you can swing it.

I don't think I would give the same amount b/c they're not paying for your plates. I would probably give $150.

I wouldnt give the same amount if you are not able to attend. Why not buy a gift off their registry?? Thats always nice...

I personally would give $150 since you won't be attending... but send a card with a nice handwritten note. dont send it solo.

IMO you send back the no response with a $100 check. They aren't paying for you/ Your $100 is just extra but I think it is the right thing to do.

I would give back the same gift. Yes, they aren't paying to cover a plate, but since that is what they gave to you, I would give it back to them. JMO

I would send $125-150 based on the $250 they sent you since they aren't paying for your plates ......

I would send it closer to the wedding, appx 2 weeks before.
