Ok Ladies.....I have a question. My mom is a little crazy and wanted to start looking at gowns. My wedding is 10/11. I think its to early but to make her happy I went looking and I actually found a gown I LOVE! I didnt order it b/c im still gonna look but do you think its to early to order a gown?

You should see if your designer is having a showcase... if it is not anytime soon or anywhere near you then go for it :)

Not at all..I found my dream gown in January online but didn't go try it on till March and fell in love with it!! My wedding is not till September and I ordered my gown in the beginning of March. )1 1/2 years before my wedding!!!) It takes 3-4 months for it to come in, and the bridal salon I ordered it from will be storing it till then. If you love it and you know its the ONE, then go for it.
But if your worried that you might catch dress envy..then maybe hold off. If you can look at other pretty gowns and not get envious and still feel your gown is gorgeous and the ONE for you..go for it! That's what I had to ask myself when I bought my gown.

I am getting married the week after you and I ordered mine already, Its supposed to be in around Sept, but I asked them to hold it till the spring (since I bought it out of town).

As the psycho who ordered her gown over 2 years before I'm gonna go with no not too soon for you at al! lol..if you know yourself like I do..I ordered last February and it just came in last week and let me tell you..I am TOTALLY in LOVE all over again lol Nothing compares to it when I look at others..but that's me if you can say the same go for it!! haha

For me personally, I wouldn't have ordered my dress too far in advance (I waited until I was like a year out). But if you absolutely love this dress and know it's the one, I would definitely wait until the designer has a trunk show somewhere and get the best deal you can on the dress and in the meantime shop around some more to make sure you are absolutely certain this is your dress. You don't want to end up later on down the line loving another dress more the original and you wind up having 2 dresses.
Also, once you order, STOP looking! LOL

ITA. I have 2 dresses because of this!
Bought the first one because I thought it was everything that I wanted, before any wedding plans were set in stone.
The dress did not match the feel of our wedding at all, so I had to look again.
Don't buy a dress until you can't stop thinking of it, get a stupid grin on your face when you picture yourself walking down the aisle in it, and you get the best possible deal on it.
