wedding gown alteration

I found the wedding dress of my dreams on line but I need to find a reliable seamstress to have it altered before I buy the gown. Can anyone recommend someone they've used?

Karin Yvengsdotter from Astoria altered my and my sister-in-laws gown. Her price is reasonable and she is a doll to work with. I'm sorry I dont have her # anymore but if you do a search here at LIW or try the The Knot, you should be able to obtain either her phone # or her website and praises about her work.

Good Luck!!!

Since you are getting married in East Wind, maybe you are in Suffolk County. In Coram on Rte 112 just north of Rte 25 there is a little tailor shop: Philomena's. I've taken everything to her for years. She'll be doing my dress when the time comes.

Re: wedding gown alteration

my MIL is a seamstress - she did all the alterations for my wedding (though not my dress) and made the ring bearer and flowergirl outfits. I know she's done lots of wedding dresses (including her two daughters) and does beautiful work. She works out of East Northport. If you're interested, FM me.

(she was going to do my dress but I had a low cap on the alterations and a lot of work was needed so I had teh salon do them. I didn't want to overburden her since she was already doing so much for the wedding).
