I'm assuming the English bustle is the same as the American bustle also called an over bustle which usual has hook and eye or buttons that lift the train up on the outside of your dress. The French bustle or an under bustle tends to use ribbons and lifts the train up in almost a reverse pick up fashion. HTH

Re: Wedding gown bustle
Just wanted to insert another one here. If your dress has a lot of straight-line detail on the back you may want a ballroom bustle. This it what I'm doing with my dress (Maggie sottero, dion). The train is actually flipped under so that you. Can still see the beautiful details on the back and it stays stream lined instead of bustled outward. It definitely looks better on certain dresses :).

All of the detail is on the top of my dress (lace) the bottom is very flowly tulle.

Ty. In your case, one of the other two bustle will probably add to the dress instead of take away. Have fun!
