wedding gown-for a friend-where to go?

My friend is in her early 40's and is getting married for the 2nd time.
Where can she go to find a nice, straight, plain, non pouffy wedding gown? maybe one with a little train?

Thanls

She can look into buying a bridesmaid dress in white or ivory. Many designers, such as Jim Hjelm have really beautiful bridesmaid dresses that can be used as a simple wedding gown. Plus the price won't be bad.

The Watters and Watters bridal gown line fits that description. Classy, very low pouf-factor!

in my extensive shopping experience (b/c as you know it took me like 11 trips to finally find a dress!), it seemed that the smaller boutiques in NYC tended towards the simple, sophisticated style you are talking about. I'm sure you could find them at LI places, but seems like a bigger selection of that particular style in NYC. If you want specifics, let me know!

Re: wedding gown-for a friend-where to go?

I agree w/the suggestion to check out Jim Hjelm... My bridesmaids are wearing this dress in black. When one of my friends was trying it on at the Commack Wedding Center - the sample was a white dress. I overheard one salesperson asking another if my bridesmaid was trying on a dress for a second marriage!! So - I guess this dress would be appropriate!! (The real style # is JH4125 - but The Wedding Center had a different style # - If you want it, I'll look up the # for you.)
