Wedding Gown - Need opinions

Im having a dilemma with my mother and I was just wondering who all of you went shopping with for your wedding gown...did any of you invite your future mother-in law? Do you think it is appropriate to invite her?

The first couple of times I went with different people (MOH an Mom and BM) It was too stressful for me. I wound up going bu myself and found My dress. It would be nice to ask FMIL to go with you. I didnt but I did bring her after to see what it looked like. HTH

I did invite her, but she said she didn't want to impose and thought it was a mother-daughter moment she didn't want to intrude on....so I think I may invite her to a fitting...we'll see!

I just had my mother and sisters with me---when I actually go an start my fittings--I will invite my FMIL

I went with my mother and 2 sisters. I don't think my FMIL minded at all bc I would have heard otherwise. I think it's a mother-daughter-sister type thing.

I think it all depends on everyone's personality.

I went shopping with my Mom and Aunt but only because they live in Arizona. If they were in NY I would have definitely invited my FMIL along. But both me and my Mom have a really good relationship with my FMIL.

I think it all depends on how you, your FMIL, and your Mom feel about it.

For example, my FMIL didn't want to see my dress before the wedding day, so she didn't come to any fittings or anything. But if she had wanted to, I totally would have invited her.

I went with my mother, sister, MOH and FMIL. My FMIL wanted to come and said she would even take a day off from work to go shop with me. She's wonderful and I love her.

When I went dress shopping it was just my Mom and me. I think it's a great idea to ask your FMIL. I'm sure she'd be honored to go

It all depends on your mom and FMIL. My mom would have been offended if I asked FMIL, but I personally didn't want to go with anyone except my mom and sister. FMIL would have never expected me to ask her - I am close with her and all, but I am sure she thinks it's a mom-daughter thing. I don't want her to see my dress until that day, anyhow. But if you are close with FMIL and think she'd like it, go ahead, if your mom would be cool with that. My mom and FMIL have only met once and it would be weird I think.

First time I went, I went with my mom, grandma, sister and best friend.

Then my mom and I went to look a few times afterwards until I found my dress.

But..my mom wanted my grandma to see my dress before I ordered it, so after my mom and I found the dress, Grams came the next day to see it.

I went one time with my aunt and another time with my mother. I really dont want to go with any of my bridal party. They will see my dress on the day of my wedding. I invited my FMIL but she said no and I kept it like that bc we have two different styles and opinions. The only reason I asked bc I did not want her to feel left out.

i was going to invite her but my mom and i went on a whim and ended up finding the dress. it would have been nice to have her there!

I have two DIL's and I went with both of them for their gowns. It was wonderful to be included. You should ask your FMIL because I am sure she will be thrilled and honored.
