Hello ladies! My mom is coming in this weekend to go shopping for my dress. Can anyone suggested where we should go-either the city or long island. I have a SMALL budget for my dress, I don't want to spend over $800. Thanks for your help!

try bridal world in baldwin also...........
I second this
Me too..I saw them pull some stunning dress for a girl whose budget was $400 (some were samples but in prestine condition)
Very sweet there as well..not pushy at all. My budget was higher but they didn't pull anything near my budget
ETA: LIC David's bridal had great dresses, great prices and the consultant I had was not pushy at all

I got my dress for a VERY reasonable price at Burtons. Plus, they have a coupon on their site for $100 off!http://www.burtonsbridals.com/

Try David's Bridal in Massapequa---I got mine there for 650 and its beautiful!! It is one of the Oleg Cassini dresses and it looks and feels much more expensive.
I had a wonderful experience at the store in Massapequa, they ladies were great there.
Thank you!! Yes, that's my dress, except mine is a light ivory not white.

David's Bridal in Westbury. Got my gown for under $600.
I don't want to knock them.. but I was there TWICE and they were really RUDE to me, (but they had one dress the other store didn't.. that I LOVED at the time)... I went to the one in lake grove, and they were MUCH better... but not great, the girl they gave me was FAR too pushy.. and kinda pathetic, she cried when I tried on a dress.. cried like she was my sister seeing me in my dress for the first time..
there's a new one in Massapequa... I hear they're really nice over there.
Davids Bridal is great because they have SO many different styles and are pretty damn affordable!
do you have any style you are interested in? I am in love with a Mary's Dress... Mary's is pretty affordable, but for the dress I want I had to go out to the city just to try it on.. no stores on LI carry that one.
good luck!
They are apparently very hit or miss with their customer service. Some girls have had great experiences while others have not.
Based on what I've read/experienced, I would try Massapequa first.
I've been going to David's Bridal in Westbury for the last 3 months back and forth trying on over 12 dresses and Ive been dealing with Alicia and she's amazing! I'm actually going back tomorrow to order my dress.. pics in album!!!

Estelle's dressy dresses in Farmingdale has some reasonable prices $500 to 900. you might want to look there too.

You can buy online. My dress was $370 and I've seen it since for even cheaper... Sometimes if you go to a store and find a dress you like you can search for the same dress online and get it for a really great price. I always feel like store bought things are just so overpriced... even if they are 'on sale'.

Re: Wedding Gown Shopping with small budget
So i hopped on the subway during lunch today and went to RK Bridal.
Let me tell you-huge; huge dress selection. And i saw a ton of dresses under $800; some in the 5's some in the 6's most i liked were in the 700's but i had limited time; i'm sure there were some GREAT ones for less. Definetely worth the time to go there. The girl i spoke to said sunday's are the best time; b/c saturday are just too busy.
However you are pretty much on your own looking for dresses; i saw some other brides looking through the dresses and i saw 2 girls trying the dresses on (you're right in the open when you come out of the dressing room). But i will tell you for a beautiful dress for a good price-i'll look on my own racks and step out into the open. So worth it. Going back later in the year to start trying things on.

Lol, that is really desperate but it made me laugh. I agree, vendors can be SOOO fake and pushy! But crying for a stranger??? That is overkill...
