Re: Wedding gowns....
Hmmm.... I just got my dress in the Bridal Building in NYC 1385 Broadway. They have the dresses discounted b/c they are the reps and suppliers that sell direct to the stores.
I went to Bridal Couture of Manhassett - very nice, very pricy. I went to Wedding Salon of Manhassett - beautiful gowns, you're going to pay for them lol. Lilletes in Baldwin - very nice, help was sweet as sugar, dresses are affordable.
Those were the places of all the places I went to - I went to at least 15 different places that I liked the best.

Re: Wedding gowns....
I bought my dress from Wedding Atelier on 5th Avenue and 18th Street. Staff was fantastic and my dress was perfect
i only went to one as you know. i went to bridal suite in centereach ask for barbara she was soo helpful kept bringing out dresses and no matter how many she brought out she didnt rush me at the least bit! she is not there on the weekends though,. and they are reasonable so if you go and ask for barbara you would have to go on a weekday if you want her

Re: Wedding gowns....
I second the advice that once you find the one stop looking around.
I only had to go to two places- my first stop was Lillette's and I found THE GOWN... (pic in my album in case you're curious).
I highly recommend Lillette's in Baldwin.. ask for Gerri - she's a doll and as patient as anything.

Re: Wedding gowns....
I went to Klenfeld, POB Salon and Amsale salon, and I had great experiences. I went to BF on 5th and I didnt like any of their dresses so I didnt try any of them on and they looked at me like , I didnt like that, I didnt really like my experience there and they made me wait 15-20 min after my appointment AND they took down my credit card # just in case I didnt show up they would charge me $50, if they charge me that much for not trying on any dresses, they are going to get it, sorry had to vent a bit but just for you to know

Re: Wedding gowns....
I went to Lillette's in Baldwin twice, and both times stayed for over TWO HOURS!! They were super attentive and extremely kind, patient, and helpful. They really listened to what I wanted, and ONLY pulled dresses that matched what I was looking for...didn't try to force me into anything. If you go there, be sure to ask for Gerri...she's SO nice & helpful. Definitely make that one of your stops - it is affordable too. Some people say they're overpriced, but it depends on your dress, the designer, etc. I also bought mine there because of the unreal customer service by Gerri, I felt she deserved the sale for spending all that time with me. FM me if you have any questions! good luck :)

Re: Wedding gowns....
I would recommend going early if you are going on a weekend. The stores can get crowded, even if you have an appt.

Re: Wedding gowns....
I went to Priscilla of Boston in Rosyln. Christine was my salesperson and she was great.
I went to the Wedding Salon of Manhasset and worked with Jordana. I would definitely suggest working with her. This is where I wound up purchasing my dress!

I bought my gown from Lillette's -- and my veil, too. I have my first fitting Thursday! I also highly recommend Pat.
I don't think they are overpriced at all - at least not for bridal gowns. I've seen the same dresses elsewhere for much more. My BM dresses were priced appropriately, but no real discount or anything. However, they have a great selection and so far excellent customer service.

Re: Wedding gowns....
Ive been to Davids Bridal just to check it out, service- D, I then went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, service- A-, the girl was just lathering it on a little too thick, complimenting and pushing a sale for a $4,000 dress, which by the way, I called around and found a place in White Plains that would sell it to me for $3400. You can always talk them down! I checked out RK Bridal since its not far from my office. Not bad selection, and very good prices. A lot of beading if you like that. service- A
Last place I went to was Kleinfelds in NYC, service A+! Loved them! They only showed me dresses in my price range and then any special request dresses I just wanted to see, even though they were above my $$ range. I worked with Sarah. Now I just have to make a decision. I loved one dress at Bridal Reflections and 2 at Kleinfelds. They are also filming a series called Kleinfelds Unveiled for TLC, I might be on the show!!!
I still want to check out the Bridal Building since I dont work too far from it! Im addicted to dress shopping. I want to make sure its the one. The more you shop though, the more confused you get. I dont recommend it!

Re: Wedding gowns....
I reluctantly went to David's Bridal, after reading about some so-so experiences. I was pleasantly surprised. Lexi helped me, and she was great. I went early in the morning (right when they opened) on a weekday, so I'm sure that helps. I was the only bride there at the time. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on. I also went to The Wedding Center in Commack...not a good experience. The woman that helped me was very pushy and not particularly helpful. Oh well, atleast I already found my dress, so it wasn't a big deal. Now I just have to go back and order it.

Re: Wedding gowns....
I was at Paradise Bridal this weekend and if you go only ask for Stephanie. I got the worst service from two other women. I was basically ignored and they were so unhelpful. Stephanie however was wonderful.
