Okay, I need to make appointments to try on dresses and I wanted to know what the girls thought.....Any really positive or really negative experiences? Please help me so I can make appointments with some great places...Thanks in advance....

I went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and in Massapequa and had great experiences at both. It is definitely smart to give them a budget. They always stayed within my budget and actually showed me things at the lower end of my price range instead of showing me everything at the top of my limit.

I found my dress at Macy's in Smith Haven. So far my experience has been okay.
Good luck and have fun! Try on dresses you would never think about trying on because you never know!

I also went to Wedding Atelier and had a good experience with them, got my dress there...really customer focused. Also went to Kleinfields and found a nice selection there as well.

I found this part a bit challenging. I'm not the biggest person in the world, but I did need sizes larger than a 10 to try on (as we all know that wedding dresses are cut smaller). I had a lot of frustration everywhere I went until I found Bridaltown, in PA. It's quite a drive, but they have an entire building of plus size dresses that are the same styles as the dresses size 14 & under.
It was nice to be able to put on a dress and zip it up and have room to move and breathe instead of fighting to get a smaller sample size over my boobs, etc...
I found my dress after trying on maybe 5 dresses and had a wonderful experience there - I HIGHLY recommend them and they are absolutely worth the drive.
My parents HATE driving to PA and when I told them they had to come give their opinions, they complained the whole way out, but after my dad saw how lovely everyone there was, he actually said on the way home that it was worth all that driving to be treated so wonderfully..
