i was just wondering if anyone will be asking their FH's opinions about a dress he would like to see you wear. or will you pick it on your own.

Re: wedding gowns
well on the one hand i'd like to surprise WOW him on my wedding day.. but on the other hand if i end up choosing a dress HE doesnt think is so awesome but i'm in love with, i won't get the WOW expression from him....sooooo
i had him earmark wedding dresses when he flips through my wedding mags and i will take inspiration from those and choose something i like lol

Re: wedding gowns
i have worn atleast a million dresses since we started dated & i have made little mental notes of what he likes on me & what he doesn't. i am not going to show him the dress i pick but will ask little questions. like strapless or with straps. wide straps or thin straps. etc.etc.

Re: wedding gowns
I showed him just the close up of the details in an email. Not the dress and this is what he wrote...
'From what i can see it looks great! But im sure you could wear anything for the wedding and look beautiful! '
How sweet is that?

that is so sweet. my FH would tell me when i got to the alter that he didn't like my dress & then proceed to have a miserable day.

Re: wedding gowns
I showed him pics of dresses similar to mine to see what his reaction is. But thats it! He will not see my dress until I am walking down the aisle.

Re: wedding gowns
I was bad and showed him pics of me in two dresses i had tried on, just because i wanted some kind of idea of what he would like. He actually liked the one that i liked more-but its not 'the one'

Re: wedding gowns
I know that FH doesn't care too much for the gowns that have all the rouching (sp) on it. I personally think they're pretty but I've tried them on and they don't look good on me. I'm really into traditional ballgown type of dresses. I'm not too worried about FH liking the dress though, I'm more worried about how he'll like my hair and makeup.

Re: wedding gowns
FH told me he doesn't like strapless on me and he would like to see something with straps on it (like halter or thick straps) so i tried a lot of those on and i liked them. but then i tried strapless and it looked so much better on me and it didn't make me look short like the others did. we both also like a-line dresses cuz i showed him pictures but other than that, he wont see it til the wedding!

Re: wedding gowns
i asked what he would like and he said that all that matters to him it is that it is white and stapless dress. i showed him some pictures of dresses i knew i didnt like but i wanted to see his opinion on different poofiness (lol)
he will not see my dress before the wedding but i felt like he should have some say in it

Re: wedding gowns
i dont think the words 'strapless' 'rouching' or 'ball gown' will ever come out of my FHs mouth. he will love me in anything i wear. plus.......if you love your gown then you will feel beautiful in it. and when YOU feel beautiful and confident it radiates out.
