So I went for the first time looking for wedding gowns this past weekend, let me just say that I went in thinking what kind of dress I wanted & they were not as flatering as I thought they would be. The dress I fell in love with is something I would never look at in a picture & think I would love, so always try different types of dresses on you never know
My question to you ladies is, does the wedding gown have to be buseled I love the look of a wedding gown just flowing Its so beautiful
What are you future brides doing Or any married ladies what did you ladies do Busel or no Busel

A wedding gown can be whatever you want it to be. Remember, it's YOUR gown!

Re: Wedding Gowns/ Busel or Not
i had to bustle mine, i couldnt walk around with it but willl depend on how long your train is. Mine was long and people wouldve been stepping all over it and when i walked i had to carry the train in my hand when taking pics. I wouldnt have been able to really dance either so i was glad when i was finally able to bustle it. But its up to you and what your train is like

I'm going to have to bustle mine since I'll end up tripping over it all night - or someone else will trip on it!

Re: Wedding Gowns
at the reception, keep in mind that you will be dancing around and you def dont want people stepping on your train/gown.. keep it 'flowing' esp for pictures and then right before you make your entrance/or even cocktail hour, bustle it up (if your having a DOC she will def be the one to suggest and do it for you)..but, its your dress and you know best..and if you feel great, then everything will turn out great~!

For your ceremony to have it flowing is perfect but when you start dancing, I'd be worried you or someone else would be stepping on it and you don't want that to happen

I had to bussel it becuase of the length. Maybe you can find a dress with a detachable train. I know I have seen them before.

Re: Wedding Gowns/ Busel or Not
my bustle broke so I was carrying the back of my dress around since I had a small train. I didnt want people to step on it so I vote for it.

Re: Wedding Gowns/ Busel or Not
As for me, I plan to have it bustled since it's pretty long and I know everyone will be tripping over it including myself. Plus, the train of my dress has very pretty beading, so when it's bustled it will looks really pretty with all the detailing of the train. I guess it depends on the length of your train & how heavy of a dress, if it's not too long and you can move around and dance freely, then it may not be necessary to have it bustled. I do think the bustle is very pretty though. Everyone will see the flowing of the dress during the ceremony, I know what you mean - I love that look. Regardless this is your day, you should do what you feel the most comfortable with.

I love the back of my gown (it's where most of the detail is) but I will absolutely need to have it bustled. I would be tripping on it all night otherwise.

For most gowns, I think you'll have to bustle it because of the train, but if it's just a small train you might be able to get away with it. Walk around in the bridal shop in it... is it difficult to walk? Will people step on it? Is the train heavy to move?

Re: Wedding Gowns/ Busel or Not
my train wasn't even long and it drove me freaking nuts - i could not wait to bustle that bad boy
ETS: and with it bustled it STILL got stepped on - so i would def bustle it - it will 100% get in the way at your reception if you are up and dancing - and it will get caught under chair legs too very annoying

Re: Wedding Gowns/ Busel or Not
I had them chop off the bottom on my dress so no bustle was needed. It was great bc I was able to take pics on the beach w/out the dress getting in the way.
