I am going crazy out of my mind trying to pick a wedding hall. My fiancee say 's whatever place I want he is in and he has pretty much went to allof the halls with me. I am not trying to spend a ridiculous amount on the wedding because we still woud like to buy a house. I am absolutely in love with Majestic Gardens, but I also like the room at Verdi's of Westbury, but Verdi's has a cheesy green illuminated sign outside, but that shouldn't matter. Right??? MG's has beautiful grounds and an outdoor/indoor cocktail cocktail hour. Verdi's cocktail hour oom is nice too and is about $7,000 cheaper than MG's and I will have viennese hour at V's but not at MG's... Both of the ballrooms are beautiful. Has anyone been V's of Westbury??? How's the food - do you think that V's is a cheesy wedding hall? Should I just go with MG's and stop worrying about the $$$$???? What do I do - HELP! Swan Club also has a good deal????

Re: Wedding Halls ;(
If you really like MG and can afford it then I say go for it, I hate to admit but I didn't book a hall because I didnt like the carpet and there was another hall I loved but didnt book because of the parking and the lack of outside grounds. I think your first step should be to decide on a budget and try to stick with it that way you dont have bigger problems trying to save for your future home. BTW, CONGRATS!!

I agree with above poster... DO NOT book anything until you come up with a complete budget plan... If you spend a ton of $$ on a RH and then have to skimp on everything else, you really will kick yaself in the *** for it! Every RH is going to have their pros and cons... what it comes down to is $$ and how they made you feel when you walked into the place... So def plan out your budget first and go from there!!!

Congratulations.
What about doing something like the Brentwood County Club - they do all inclusive deals - which include EVERYTHING (photos/limos/flowers/dj - EVERYTHING!). We went to a wedding there and the food was GREAT. We also went and met with the banquet manager (Scott) and I have to say I was impressed. We were seriously considering booking there but they didn't have the date we wanted. Good luck!!

Re: Wedding Halls ;(
We had my sister's wedding at Verdi's. No one notices the green sign because its on the west side of the building. Food was great. The way they renovated the hall is amazing ,very beautiful (the bigger room is what we had and that was what was renovated). Cocktail hour from what we hear was amazing. Everyone was shocked at the amount of food and how good it was.
It up to personal taste and how much you want to spend.

Re: Wedding Halls ;(
Make a budget, find out what you want to pay per person, and then go looking at halls. Factor into the pp price the 18% gratuity and the tax. It gives you a better number to work with.
There are such a large number of halls out there, in every price range, so don't limit yourself to just two.
I ruled out some because of price, of their minimum guarantee, and some just because of their looks.

Yeah I agree about the budget. Figure out your budget before deciding on a reception hall b/c the payments can be very expensive and that's not counting all the other wedding related expenses. I'm sure you'll find a hall soon.

This is probably going to further complicate things, but have you looked at the Miller Place Inn? It's pretty close to Majestic Gardens, and we got a much better deal.

Re: Wedding Halls ;(
I was in love with DeSeversky mansion but it was way over our budget so we looked at a few other places & realized the swan club was perfect for us. If you will regreat not having it at MG then I would save up the $ & go for it but if you could get over it & be happy somewhere else, I would look around a little more. As it gets closer the money just flys out the window & now we're glad we didn't have it at the mansion

I wish we could just stop with the eals... You dont have to reply to their posts if you dont want to. If this is a real girl planning her wedding, you might end up scaring her away... Lets all be friendly on this site ok?

I;ve been to Verid's and their food is really really good. Honestly if you like MG I would say go for it! Your day only happens once.
