I've had mild back pain for a month. I had other medical problems that had to come first and it wasn't very painful so I let it go. It started to worsen and then I noticed that there is a huge lump coming out of my spine. Almost as if a vertabrae has popped out. My internist sent me for xrays today but unfortunately my wedding is this Saturday and I'll never be able to treat it by then. Aleve isn't helping the pain and rest isn't helping.
I'm thinking of going for accupuncture. I am sure there is a medical explanation for this bump in my back and the pain but it will have to wait until next week.
Right now - I want to be able to walk for my wedding. I live in Manhattan but my wedding is on LI in Suffolk.
Can anyone recommend an accupuncturist? Anyone have any experience? Would I feel better after only one or two sessions?

You can try heat and relaxation if it is a muscle spasm you can try a massage or the chiropractor. I know mine always works out my spasms. I hope you are feeling better and can walk on your wedding day. Best of luck to you!

As someone who is getting married this weekend also , I can relate. I have been pretty sick the past 2 weeks with my chronic horrible neck pain and headaches acting up -- so I feel for you!
I do think a nice massage, plenty of rest and perhaps a chiropractor will help alleviate the pain you are experiencing .. I know I am going to my chiro tomorrow , and I'm treating myself to a massage on Saturday just to be safe. (and my brother, a doctor, gave me a wonderful little pill to help me sleep last night that worked WONDERS )
