Re: wedding insurance
i hear ya. we've just started the planning and our wedding is in august and i worry about a hurricane or blackout, although the caterer said that they have a generator. but what about liability insurance, which they say is good in case someone causes an accident from drinking? we don't want to start off our marriage being sued, you know?

Re: wedding insurance
How did you go about it. Is there someone you have to go meet with or was it all online and over the phone? what did you get coverage for? O where to begin..

Re: wedding insurance
Wedsafe also offers liability insurance. You can do it over the phone, and I think maybe also on their website. There's also another company - rvnuccio, I believe - that offers wedding insurance, but they're 3x as expensive as wedsafe.

... you can get sued??? i thought its the reception halls fault if they let people leave...
.. i thought we were going to get insurance, were not getting insurance since we picked vendors who have been around for a while, were not worried about them closing out.

Re: wedding insurance
i am requiring that all my vendors have insurance (liability) and then will look into liability insurance myself. i don't know the ins and outs yet, but to me it is important...

Re: wedding insurance
Our caterer requires that any vendor we deal with and bring into the facility be insured for one million dollars, but that i think is covering them. when i went to the wedsafe site, they talk about how the facility is covered if someone causes an accident due to drinking, but that the bride and groom are not covered. i am probably going to go for the wedding insurance, but is the liability insurance necessary???

When do you enroll for the insurance? Until eveything is booked?

Re: wedding insurance
The wedsafe website suggests that you do it as soon as possible.

i believe that falls under liability (i forget how they package things), but double check... i need to revisit the site and check myself...

Re: wedding insurance
Thank you everyone. It's something I need to look into also. As well as getting the ring insured.
