Im really not sure if we are going to do this. They say at a cost of ~1% of your total wedding, if something were to happen on your wedding day, ie:snow storm, illness; you and your vendors are guaranteed for a postponment. We haven;t really looked into or talked about it..

Re: Wedding insurance
Yes, I got it and used Wedsafe. It was really easy. You can also try www.rvnuccio.com, they're more customizable, but more expensive for me.
I looked over my hall contract and we are liable if anything happens. I rather have the insurance. Also my FI's grandmother is 96 and slipping. It depends on your personal situation, but it's so much money for one day, this is such a small amount in the end.

THat's what I thought. Better safe than sorry. I mean, if something was to happen I would never have a wedding, that's for sure.
So for $300 maybe its worth it...

You should get it for your honeymoon also.

Re: Wedding insurance
we got wedsafe last month. cost us about 250 and if it is a waste, then its a waste...we've wasted more than that...but if we need it, hell, we got it, so i'd rather be safe than sorry. someone else said, you insure your car, your house, your ring, insure this day, it is a lot of money!

Re: Wedding insurance
For the 350 bucks or so, it's COMPLETELY worth it in my opinion. You just never know......... ETA: If the insurance is a 'waste', I would say that's a good thing. No one WANTS to have to use their wedding insurance!

Re: Wedding insurance
Yeah, I've always thought it makes a lot of sense.
As for the honeymoon, I'd probably just get it from the travel agent.

Re: Wedding insurance
wedding insurance? I have never heard of this..someone said, you insure a house a car...how is that the same as an event? Im probably just naive but what are you insuring? What natural events could possibly happen that your day would not occur?

You'd be surprised! Wedding insurance can cover a lot. It covers cancellation due to a death in the family or any other reason out of your control. It also covers other accidents that may happen that day. Your dump red wine on your heirloom wedding dress, there's a flood in the church 2 months before the wedding and you need to reprint the invites, etc, etc, etc. There are a million things that can happen.
Obviously we think it is worth it and are planning to get it. I'm hoping that all we get out of it is peace of mind and everything will go smoothly.

Re: Wedding insurance
I understand , I did'nt mean to be offensive to anyone, obviously a wedding costs even MORE then a car pretty often. My opinion is that god works in weird ways so I would let what happens happen..yet I hope ( to god) that nothing happens like you said and I dont end up wishing I had considered the insurance!

I don't think the vendors will run away with my money. It's more about death, sickness, injury, etc.

No offense taken. I never thought about getting it either until I got something in the mail from Wedsafe. FH and I discussed it and decided to sit on it awhile. Then good friends of ours had a serious illness in their family that has affected their wedding plans. It really made us think. Now we know we want it.

Yes - the best thing we ever did!
If something goes wrong (I have a sick parent), we don't have to lose our shirts if we have to cancel. You can never predict these kind of things!
They do not cover a change of heart

I was going to do it but decided against it and was happy because there was no snow and everything turned out nice

Re: Wedding insurance
I seriously considered it. I would have used wedsafe. I haven't completely ruled it out, but there's alot it DOESN'T cover that I thought it did and wish it would because those are the things I'm concerned about. For now, I'm voting no and saving the money for something else.
