Re: Wedding Insurance
i looked into it--just since we were marrying in feb. so i was worried about weather--but in the end we opted not to.
i think it has its pro's and con's like any insurance. but most of your vendors might have their own policies regarding cancellations or post-ponements due to weather and acts of God.
i know its good for 'change of heart' in case one or both the & change their mind--but if anyone is getting it for that reason they have more problems going on than needing wedding insurance!

Re: Wedding Insurance
DH and I got, although we had a regular LI wedding at a reception hall in the spring. We got it from WedSafe. WedSafe offers five different types of coverage--we got event and liability. The amount of coverage we got covered most of the cost of our wedding. It was about $540. Everything went fine, so we did not have to file a claim.
Vendors' insurance will not cover you. Vendors' liability insurance cover themselves (and the hall as payee).
Also, read the policies carefully, because certain items are excluded. For example, for WedSafe policies, changes of heart are NOT covered.
It's up to you whether you want to get it or not. Also, check your renters or homeowners policy to see if liability is covered. It may, in amounts large enough that you may choose not to get additional coverage.
