Haha thank you!! Yes, apparently there is just in case there is a monsoon on your big day.... so I am assuming you don't have it ? I am not sure if I should spend the extra money...

Not gonna lie... when I 1st read your question I thought you were talking about a pre-nup...

I wouldn't even know where to get wedding ins, is it through your homeowner's policy like the ring?

Re: Wedding insurance....

most reception halls now have their own insurance to cover any mishaps. Years ago though, you'd lose all your money if anything happened. check with your hall.

It's not just for the RH, most RH's require vendors to have a certain level of insurance but this doesn't neccessarily take that place. If something happens and you push back/cancel the wedding, something bad happens, yada yada, you can get covered.

Look into it at wedsafe.com or travelers I think does it. I think its a few hundred dollars if you're interested but I never really priced it out, I've just read about it.

No need for insurance- just make sure if some act of god happens on the day of your wedding (god forbid!) make sure the contracts with your vendors are clear!

I can guarantee that all LIW vendors have whatever insurance is required by the reception hall. Most vendors that aren't on LIW will have the required insurance as well.

ETA: That has NOTHING to do with wedding insurance. Wedding insurance is your safety net in case your wedding is postponed or cancelled or things of that nature. If the photographer's camera breaks during the wedding, their insurance will cover that, you won't need to get additional insurance to cover that.

i looked into it ... it was only a couple hundred dollars but it really didn't seem necessary in the end ...

as others said, it's mostly if something happens ...

like if your limos don't show up and you need to book alternative limos on the day-of ... you may need to pay 10 times as much as you originally paid ... insurance will pay for it.

or if you need to postpone the wedding (for any reason other than falling out of love), then insurance will pay you back for any lost vendor deposits.
