good morning ladies... i have a couple of questions about wedding invitations:
I read that you are suppose to send them out 6 to 8 weeks before and put the RSVP deadline 2 weeks before the wedding i am confused how do you have enough time to send out your B list guests? Can you send them out earlier than 6 to 8 weeks or make the RSVP deadline like a month before? and can you tell me where you looked for invitations? i seem to be having trouble finding any that i like that aren't 400 dollars for 100 (you'd think it would be easy when i am having a black and white wedding)
thank you!

Re: Wedding invitation
I thought that expecting a response by 1 month prior was normal...all the invites I've gotten lately, the advice I've been given, and what we were going to do was send them out about 3 months early and request a reply 4-6 weeks before the wedding. That gives us time for those who don't act in a timely manner (see also: many members of FH's family and my friends) to respond and us to still have time to deal w/ the B list as needed.

Re: Wedding invitation
I am actually putting my RSVP date about 6-8 weeks before the date. I want enough time to be able to get my final count, get my favors together, and if there is someone that didn't RSVP, I can give them a call and find out the deal.

Re: Wedding invitation
As of right now I am having two sets of RSVP cards made. One set will be 6-8 weeks before the date and the other will be 6-4 weeks before the date for my B list.

Re: Wedding invitation
Keep in mind that you can send out blist invites as your as list 'no's' roll in, so they don't have to be in a batch. That way you don't need to add an extraordinary amount of time to your RSVP time (unless all your a list no's come in last minute)

Re: Wedding invitation
i don't have a B list but we just made our invitations (DIY) this past weekend ... we'll be sending them about 8-9 weeks before the wedding itself ... RSVP date is one month before the wedding.
We decided to go with DIY because we didn't want to spend too much on invitations ... we ended up spending about $1 each in total (give or take) and it tooks us about 3 hours to design them (choosing nice fonts are annoying lol) and about an hour or two to print them. Totally worth it, IMO.
