Wedding Invitation address help - TIA!

What is the proper ettiquette for an address that includes an apartment number:

Choice A:
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
123 First Street, Apartment 1A
New York, NY 10036

or

Choice B:
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
123 First Street,
Apartment 1A
New York, NY 10036

Also, do I need to spell out the state?

Do I need to include the full zip code + 4?

What's everyone's feeling on hand writing the outside envelope?

I am working on gathering all my addresses and putting them into a worksheet 'correctly.'

Thank you!!

I put 'apartment' on its own line because I didn't like how long it looked with the address. (I guess that's choice B)

You have to spell out the state...

You don't have to include the extra zip code..

and I don't feel so good about handwriting on the envelope unless its calligraphy.

Technically, choice B is the right one. But nobody would ever notice that, so do whatever you think looks better on your shape of an envelope.

I say go with option B and I personally don't see anything wrong with hand writing the address.

B looks better.

Spell out the state.

You're SUPPOSED to handwrite the envelopes - tells everyone you personally care about them or something. I did it on my computer with nice fonts. I have some inexpensive calligraphers if you need one.

I voted for choice B, but either way - NO ONE saves the envelope so as long as it gets there, the rest is gravy.

You do have to spell out the state.

If you are already putting the names and addresses into a spreadsheet, why don't you just print clear labels? They are really easy to do in Word and I did them for my friend's bridal shower invitations and they came out great! Just make sure you buy the matte labels rather than the glossy. Or you could try to print the envelopes yourself, but this might be more difficult as far as layout with your printer.

I don't really think handwriting the envelopes is appropriate. JMO though, and I have terrible handwriting so that may be part of the reason I feel the way I do! Good luck!

ETA: Sorry - I forgot to include that I voted for option B

B

You don't need the comma after the street address

what about street address
do you spell out 94th?
so it would read 324 Ninety Fourth Street
for an address in Manhattan??

choice b BUT... there is no comma after the street address

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
123 Main Street
Apartment 1A
New York, New York 10021

yes, spell out the state

no, you dont have to include the '4' in the zip code

i am doing calligraphy on the outside (my dad and i can write it) i think if you have nice handwriting - go for it!

may i make a suggestion - if you are familiar with microsoft xcel - ITS AWESOME for your addresses! that is what i did.
