How early should I send out the wedding invitations and how close to the wedding is the RSVP date supposed to be? Sorry, I am totally ignorant about this.

Re: Wedding invites
send out your invites 8 to 10 weeks before your date, RSVP should be 4 weeks before your date.
Personally, I did 10 weeks for the mailing, 6 weeks for the RSVP - just my control thing.

I'd say 8 weeks prior to the wedding for mailing them out and 4 weeks prior for the RSVPs but it might be a good idea to give yourself an extra week or two

Re: Wedding invites
The reason I did 6 weeks for the RSVPs is to allow an extra week or two for the stragglers to mail in their responses before FH has to start calling people. I don't recall when I have to give the final count to the RH. Some are one week, some are two weeks. I just didn't want to stress. Most of my guests are, I am hoping, mature enough to know how to respond to a RSVP.

Re: Wedding invites
I sent our invites out the first week in June for our August 11 wedding. (I sent the 8 that were returned to me b/c the post office s*cks arse out today)...
Our RSVP date is July 7th.
Generally, invites go out 8-10 weeks before the wedding and the RSVP date is about 4 weeks before the wedding. (You need time to track down people who don't respond or whose responses get lost and also need to get your favors together and your headcount to the RH)

I hope so too, but if going by my friend's weddings are any judge, they had a good 12 couples who never bothered to RSVP. That is just so rude. So maybe I'll give myself an extra week or two as a buffer. Thanks
