When does one normally visit vendors for wedding invites and when does one normally send them out?

Invites are normally sent out about 8 weeks before the wedding date. You should order them about 1-2 months prior to when they need to be sent out so that you can have the envelopes addressed, and have time to stuff, seal, stamp them etc.
