I am thinking about my wedding jewelry - I really don't want to spend a lot on it b/c we are already paying for the Rehearsal dinner (FH didnt' think his parents shoudl pay since they are paying for brunch for all their friends who are staying overnight - i disagree but whatever).
anyway, i saw some pretty earrings at target today and thought i'd buy them (i'm on a real target kick these days! got my rehearsal dinner dress there too for $22!) I'm just nervous that they will look too costumey (just aquamarine colored studs). What do you think?

Re: Wedding Jewelry: Real or Fake?
FH bought me a necklace for Christmas and I just got the matching earrings for my B-Day. SO, I'm wearing real!

Re: Wedding Jewelry: Real or Fake?
I'm allergic to nickel (in silver and white gold) so I am looking at getting one fabulous real item for myself (probably earrings) and either renting/borrowing a real bracelet OR buying a fake one and having it dipped in a metal i can wear safely.

I wore 1.5 carat diamond studs...FAKE! No way was I going to wear MY diamond studs and lose one~this is my luck!
If you like them then buy them, they dont have to be real as long as you like them

Re: Wedding Jewelry: Real or Fake?
I think it depends on the type of jewelry you are going to wear. I just wore earings and i got them fake at tri county and i got so many complements on them...if i bought them real they'd be thousands of dollars. Real jewelry in the size i wanted would cost a fortune. I say as long as its not gawdy that fake jewelry is more then fine!

I am very particular and I am not a fan of fake jewelry. When you have a Dad who is in the jewelry business, it's kind of hard to go fake. However, they copy stuff so well now. I went into Saks one day and stumbled upon a beautiful pair of chandilier earrings that were pretty cheap. Costume of course but beautiful. No one would ever know! I don't like fake stuff that looks fake BUT you can get away with fake stuff that looks really expensive. And, that is what I am going to do- as long as it looks good, I'll buy it. It's not like you will wear the bridal stuff again anyway so why throw your money away?
since your dad works in the jewelry business maybe he can help you borrow some real jewelry. that would ge so great

I don't know what your definition of 'fake' is.
I wore a silver and Swarovski crystal and pearl necklace - pics in my album. I wore real blue oval-shaped topaz studs. I got compliments all night!
