Re: WEDDING LIST HELL!!!!!!!! HELP!!
we cut off guests for anyone who wasn't married or almost married
as far as kids are concerned, only our siblings and first cousin's kids are invited

I would do this...with your list, write down the number invited and then write down the number you think will come. You know there are people on that list who are probably not coming. You might be closer to the 200 than you think/
We invited 300 and we're struggling to get to 150, nevermind our 170 minimum, so you just never know

Re: WEDDING LIST HELL!!!!!!!! HELP!!
RH's charge ½ price for kids up to a certain age. call your RH to find out what the cut off age is. We didn't have to cut anyone out because we needed people at the wedding, but if this was a problem with us, I would only invite people over 18, 16 youngest and like if for example my aunbt had 3 kids, ranging 16-18, i wouldn't invite any of them with a guest. How about work guests - don't invite them with a guest if you have to cut - they are going to be with other co-workers so you can cut the plus one there too.
Hope that helps!

We did a closeness cutoff, and kind of an age cutoff. The youngest kids we invited were like 6/7 years old. The kids we didn't invite were under 2, so it made it easier.
Check with your hall. At out hall I don't remember specifically because we're ending up with no kids, but like under 5 is free, and under 10 or something is half price.
For me, I don't like inviting some siblings and not others, so I would not enforce an age cutoff within a family

I think more people are seeing a NO rate of 30% lately. If that's the case, that number would be just right for you.
We had a 32% no rate. Couple of 'For Sure' came back as no..... Money is very tight for a lot of people. Never know what you're going to get.

Re: WEDDING LIST HELL!!!!!!!! HELP!!
we arent having any kids. Our cut off is 18 pretty much. but we dont have any teens we would have or wouldnt have invited either way.
also as far as guests, if you arent married or in a serious relationship/living together or engaged we didnt do guests.

Re: WEDDING LIST HELL!!!!!!!! HELP!!
also not having any kids
16 and up and thats only bc I have one very close cousin who is 16
and also, no guests unless you are married or engaged or in very serious relationship..it may be tacky or annoying but honestly, i dont need nor want random flavors of the week in my wedding pics
skim through that list and make a B list and if you get a lot of Nos then send them out later
and also i would put on the invite Adult Reception, if you want to weed out the kids
AND remember that people WILL Invite others to your wedding! so even though you thought it was just Aunt Sue and Uncle Bobby, they might bring XYZ

Crashing...
We invited 300 and had 220 come and that included us and our vendors. So don't really worry about the list. You probably won't be that far off. Normall 20% RSVP no, but the no's usually come closer to the RSVP date.
We had a adults only party. We did our cut off at 18 years old (except for the flower girl). Also at JT, children 2 and under eat for free. And I can't remember if it's children under 10 or 12 that eat for half price. They will go over that with you when you finalize everything and pay the balance. But if you want to know before you send out the invites, just call and ask them.
Edited: And as a PP stated. We did serious relationships or engaged couples. If you were single or just started dating someone they weren't invited. And if we haven't met them yet it wasn't that serious (we're close with all our friends that were invited). It was just easier and like PP said, we didn't want any flavors of the week.

Re: WEDDING LIST HELL!!!!!!!! HELP!!
Our cut-off age was 12 but it also depended on how close we were. And like loveydovey said, no flavors of the week at my wedding, only those who are married/engaged or living together were allowed to bring their significant others. If they dont like it, too bad.
