Wedding menus?

Wedding menus?

Just wondering if most of you are having menus printed up for your wedding? We just ordered our invites and aren't sure if the menus are a waste of $$ ?

I am doing those myself. I have cardstock left over from another project.
Ask the RH if they have a template you can use.

My reception hall does this and personalizes them with our name and wedding date. That's good enough for me - I am not going to both making my own menus or having them printed somewhere else.

Our RH did the same thing, I was pleasantly surprised and took them up on it!!!

ETA: I was planning on making them myself until I found this out.

Ditto. I love how mine came out !! I found some examples on LIW's and came up with our own design from there. It cost me less than $10 !

This will be a DIY for us.

I am not doing wedding programs....my catered food is 'buffett style' so I am sure each guest can easily distinguish what each dish is and if not, could easily ask the server.

I made my own. I bought parchment paper and printed mine and then mounted them on heavy construction paper that I got from the art teacher at my school.
Cheaper, but time consuming. (but apparently worth it because everyone LOVED them)

I DIY'd them. For our dinner, we are having a choice of entrees that guests do not pre-select. (The waiter takes the order at the table as if it were a real restaurant.) So it was easier for the guests and the waitstaff for us to print the menus out. We didn't include the cocktail hour food on them. I just used cardstock.

I am going to buy cardstock and make my own. I designed my invites as well so I am using the same design for both. I feel like its more personal this way. Plus, Im sure guests will appreciate the menu beforehand so they are ready to choose when the servers some around.

We too are DIY'ing them. 8.5x11 cardstock, two menus to a page, use a paper trimmer to cut them and possibly mount on chocolate brown cardstock to have a back layer.

I definitely want to do my own because we have a lot of choices for dinner and I want people to know what their options are before the waiters come around. Also, our families are latin so I'd like them to have a chance to look over the choices and decide before they need to order.
