Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

For those of you doing menus on the table at the reception are you going to lay them flat on the table or have them rolled with a ribbon? Anyone have pictures of menus on tables?

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

We had ours laying flat on each dish. You can see it sticking out in this picture under the napkin.

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

I'm still ambitious enough to think that I can make the oragami-style menu holders/placecards from the Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. We're going to have the menus standing up straight in each holder, which will be in the center of the plate.

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

I'd go flat because otherwise people might not realize what they are until after they would need to see the menu.

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

I went to a wedding this weekend where they were rolled. To be honest I didnt even see it till after I ordered, neither did half the table. So my vote is leave it falt on the plate!

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

I would love to see your menu Diva!!!

I actually have a picture of my menus flat at my eparty.

JennieSunshine - do you have a picture of the Martha thing you are talking about?

They look so big on the plates. I don't want it to take away from the flowers. Maybe I can have a smaller menu. That was just an 9x11 piece of paper.

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

I really wanted the first one because I think its cool how they put it right on the plate (there's no missing it!!). But for $8 each, there's no way I can afford that!!!

Diva and Jennie - those are all so beautiful.

Do you buy the plate for $8 or just the stick on thing?

Re: Wedding Menus - Flat or Rolled with Ribbon?

I love them flat, tucked into the napkin, I'm just not sure if my CH will be willing to do the extra work! I am also considering not putting one on each plate, but a few around each table in picture frames.
