Wedding Newbie!

Original post by JessesGirl

Hi '08 Brides!!! A few of my friends have used LIWeddings and told me about the site when I got engaged last month at the Rockafeller Center Tree in the city!

I've since been reading about the site but this is my first actual post. I'm new to pretty much all things wedding but I'm learning fast with help from the site and all the magazines I subscribed to!

I'm thinking of an October 2008 wedding, I know that it's kind of soon but I would really love a beach wedding in the Hamptons and I think October is the perfect time of year. So, my question to all of you ( especially October brides) is, do you think 9 months is enough time to plan a wedding????

Thanks girls- and nice to meet you all!

PLENTY of time... I got engaged in October and am getting married in August- so I had 10 months. I think short engagements are better- you'll be more motivated to get it all done, and there is less anticipation!

Hey maybe date twin! You definetely have enough time, but you do need to get your reception hall and ceremony soon. I looked at about 15 places before booking, but that's just how I am. I need to know everything before making a decision. FM if you need any help! Welcome!
