Is everyone staying in a 'honeymoon suite' the night of their wedding??? I have rooms blocked at the red roof inn in in westbury, and they dont have honeymoon suites, but we want to stay there since all of our friends are. But is it bad not to have a luxurious room on your wedding night? or really is it just personal opinion??

Re: Wedding Night
I hope it isn't bad b/c we are going straight from the RH to the airport. My wedding night will be spent in JFK.
I say do what you want. You can stay in luxurious rooms on your HM.

Re: Wedding Night
the HM suite is all nite and great....but in reality for me it felt like a waste of money. you are so exhausted that nite from the wedding--and you are basically paying an extraordinary amount of $$ for a room that you will only spend a few hours in, and possibly shag.
we stayed in a 'king room' at our hotel, and it worked out just fine!

Re: Wedding Night
We are going home!! LOL- it seemed like a waste cause we will probably go out after the wedding with friends, and the wedding itself doesn't end til 12, so if you figure an hour to say goodbye to everyone, pack up and leave, thats 1am, if we go out we won't be back til at least 3. Most check out times are 11, so I couldn't see spending the money.

We are going home. Don't have the dough to spend on hotels or honeymoons, plus we have three kids to care for. I say do what you want, not what you think you should!

Same here. Well, it's actually a 'studio suite' with a king size bed. It's the same room I'm staying in with a couple of my BMs the night before.

Re: Wedding Night
we're just gonna stay in the hotel where all of our friends are staying. it also helps that it's just down the block from my parent's house, so we can get up whenever we want in the morning and go home. we leave for our HM on tuesday (wedding's on sunday)

Re: Wedding Night
Our hotel doesn't have 'honeymoon suites' either but I have been in enough weddings to know that my BMs will decorate the whole room with rose petals and such to make it beautiful!!

Re: Wedding Night
I think it is your own personal opinion on what type of room you stay in. Fh and I were just going to go home after the wedding but, to our surprise The Chateau Briand sets us up for free at the Fox Hollow Inn. It's so exciting.

Re: Wedding Night
I am but only because I'm getting married in a hotel and it came with the package. If it hadn't have been free, I probably would have picked a spacious regular room. It's really not worth it for the price some places want to charge - who's going to spend time in the sitting room anyway (unless you start on the couch and then move to the bed...lol)
