Fh and I were planning on just coming back to our apt after our wedding which ends at 6pm, mainly due to the fact that we are trying to save money....is that ok or should we try to do something special that night? If so, any suggestions....TIA!!!!!!!!!

Re: wedding night suggestions?
Definitely try to stay in a hotel room and make it special. We are staying in the bridal suite in the hotel all our guests are staying at.

i would get a room at a hotel. Even if it's a regular room at a non fancy hotel. I think it might make the night more memorable but it's totally up to you. we are staying at the Inn at Fox Hollow compliments of our Hall

I would also get a hotel room - even if it's just a normal standard room! You could always hang out with your bridal party at the hotel bar for a few extra drinks & then relax in your room afterwards.

my sister just stayed at the Marriott in melville. It was $229 a nite. She got a deluxe huge room with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room. They also had breakfast inclided at the Bistro restaraunt (the couldnt get out of bed though and the hotel sent them up the menu and had it delivered to room). they also had late 2pm checkout...she said it was really nice!

We're trying to save some $$ too & we could go back to our place afterwards (it's ending at 5:30pm), but we decided to splurge & get a suite at the Huntington Hilton that night (even though it's 5 min. away from my FH's house). Like the OPs, we also want it to be a special & memorable night & in addition to that, all of our OOT guests will be staying there, so we figure we can keep partying with them in the bar afterwards since it will be early. The idea of just going home for the night at 5:30pm just doesn't appeal to us - we want to be where the action is LOL Anyways, we're paying $239 for the night for their Full Suite & it includes the 'honeymoon package' which is a bottle of Champagne, breakfast for 2 in the morning & late check-out at 2pm...

I would def try to go to a hotel. I mean, what other excuse could you get to stay at a nice local hotel lol Many suggest the Garden City Hotel, looks beautiful. But if price is an issue, look into the accomodations recommended by your hall because they will more than likely give you a discount

I would definitely try to stay in a hotel room. This will make your wedding night even more memorable.

I agree with everyone that it is an excuse to stay in a nice hotel, but if you really wanted to save money, you could have your BP make your apartment romantic....rose petals on the floor and bed, lots of candles, champagne.... it could still be nice at home...after all, you will have your honeymoon to go all out in a nice room.
