Wedding on a NEW budget

Wedding on a NEW budget

Hey ladies, I need some advice. So before Monday of last week, we had a pretty tight budget. We were doing everything very conservatively on the extras, so the actual wedding would be THEE most important, where we wouldn't worry too much and just do it how we wanted

However, Monday I was laid off after 7 years
BAD TIMING!!
So now, we have to re-thnk our budget till I get a new job If anyone has any ideas on DIY favors, that would be great! Do they REALLY save you money?? We were thinking on spending about $4-$5 per person (approx 130 guests)
Any ideas would be GREAT!

Thanks.

$4-$5 pp for favors is a lot! How many people are you having? Do you have a theme?

There are plenty of favors below your budget. Personally I love the 2 buck chuck idea. We actually looked into doing this.

ITA.

You could totally cut them out. Or, if you haven't done your placecards/card holders yet, get mini picture frames and put the placecards in them. my cousin did that as her 'favor' at her wedding and they didnt have anything else. no one was looking for a favor

so sorry to hear about you losing your job! you could also DIY your invitations if you haven't already done them. They sell awesome kits at Michaels. Tons of things can be done DIY.

We did a donation and then gave chocolates in a favor box. With the donation and the chocolates I spent maybe $3/per person. I bought the chocolates in bulk from Lake Champlain Chocolates and found the favor boxes very, very cheap at amazing savings. The favor boxes had to be put together but it was easy and only took a couple of hours. We gave a donation to St. Judes Children's hospital and they printed the note explaining the donation for free.

We ordered these really small glass jars and you put a sicker with your name and date on it. Then we went to Economy Candy on the LES in NYC and bought black and white M&M's they were cheaper than any place we looked at.

Glasses for 170 people were around $250 I believe and the candy was $50 and mixed the colors our selfs and filled the jars

We got tons of compliments on our favors
