Wedding on a NEW budget

Original post by JenIvanNov7

Hey ladies, I need some advice. So before Monday of last week, we had a pretty tight budget. We were doing everything very conservatively on the extras, so the actual wedding would be THEE most important, where we wouldn't worry too much and just do it how we wanted

However, Monday I was laid off after 7 years
BAD TIMING!!
So now, we have to re-thnk our budget till I get a new job If anyone has any ideas on DIY favors, that would be great! Do they REALLY save you money?? We were thinking on spending about $4-$5 per person (approx 130 guests)
Any ideas would be GREAT!

Thanks.

or cut out favors altogether...? we're not doing them and i actually haven't seen a favor at a wedding in years. the last time i saw one, i left it at my table and completely forgot about it.

thats a high budget for favors. we did cupcakes, one per person from Crumbs, they were HUGE and they are in your price range!
they were a big hit with the guests

I made my own lollipops using suppiles from ACMoore, including favor tags I could print on the PC. total for 80 lollipops was about $40.

That ia what I did....we are having a small (50-60) wedding in a restaurant and I am doing a super club theme. got a great looking gold tone & crystal candle...wanted a little something as a favor so just ordered a gold beaded picture frame t(place card holder)he guests can take with them. For your amount of people the one I ordered is $1.17 if buying 48+.....take a look at weddingaccessories.net
also got our unity candle there.....the seem to beat a lot of others on pricing. They also have large selection. Good luck!!! :)

Go to wrap with us in syosset, they have disconnected items there that you can get super cheap! I got set of 4 coasters on sale for .99! also look at edible favors!

I have to agree with you they have the cheapest favors, Do you think we can walk around in that store, and see what they have?
I order some gifts from them awhile ago for church they were very pretty.

omg you could spend soooooo much less!!!! go to trader joes and get the $2 bottle of wine, make yourself some labels and give 1 bottle to each couple!

absolutely!!! Or donate the money to a charity in honor of your guests!!!!

So sorry about the layoff :(

My friend donated money to the american heart association! you can decide how much money you want to donate and it is def cheaper than favors and for a far better cause! Good Luck!
