Wedding overload!

Wedding overload!

Someone please tell me how I've been engaged since Aug of 06, spend literally HOURS everyday on this website and browsing through STDs, CPs, Bo-ks, churches, DJs, Limos..etc...and still somehow I only have my RH and Photographer booked?!?!? I have a deposit on my dress but I'm having second thoughts, I even started to have second thoughts about my photographer..which is all leading to second thoughts about this whole wedding

Can you all give me a swift kick in the @ss...

I mean I at least made it to a florist this past weekend, and we did go on another church hunt..I think we might have found a church..but my goodness..its been 2yrs and I only have 2 major things booked..at this rate I'm not getting married until 2014!!!

It just really s*cks because I work days, FH works nites..we only see eachother at 1AM , with the exception of him dropping me off at work in the morning..so its sooo hard going to see vendors, especially since I'm in Queens, most vendors are in LI and I DONT DRIVE!!! And even worse, my mom doesn't drive..sometimes I really feel stranded..

Ok..I just needed to let that out..if your still reading..I love you!!!

You poor thing... take a breath!

Someone wrote on here once that once she books something- she REFUSES to look at anymore ads, posts, or comments on that particular thing. Maybe that will help!

I think it is normal to second guess... but just remember that something made you love what you had in the first place.

HTH!

Its okay... you'll get it done. Why dont you narrow your lists to several vendors for each thing you need. No need looking at fifteen florists when you found two or three excellent recommendations. Don't stress yourself out... it will all fall into place!

Awww that s*cks!!

If you need to go to any vendors in Mineola (Pedestals, Flower Michele and Flowers by Brian are all here) you can take the train there and I'll pick you up, I'm literally 3 mins from the train station!

Its ok. I think maybe you shouldlook into possibly getting your license. Its a whole new world when u can drive anywhee you want! Plus you can get things done without FH. If he doesnt mind. I knwo my FH wants to be there for everything. Then its ok relax you will get it alldone. I have almost 6 months to go & im stillsearching for BM dresses! CRAZY! It willall pull together. Youjust have to do things on the weekends wether you like it or not.

Once you book one vendor, move on to the next until you have them booked and a lot of them are accesible by the LIRR so maybe after work you can go straight to meet with vendors like every Wednesday or something... plus a lot of brides might be looking at the same vendors so they might go with you

i feel the same way a lot. i second guess myself about every decision i made wondering if i rushed into it or if i should have checked other places/vendors, etc. Don't drive urself crazy. u picked the vendors u picked for a reason. i think all the info we get on this site (although helpful) sometimes makes us second guess what we loved in the first place.

Sorry to hear you are stressed. And I know this is tough at times. Just make a list of what you need to do and research some vendors one by one and then do it slowly. You'll be fine- all will work out!

aw, don't feel bad. i sometimes think we should just elope in vegas.

try checking out some local queens vendors so that you don't have to travel far.

Do not worry things will get better. The best advice I received was focus on one vendor at a time. Like it was said maybe you can try to get you license it is easier when you drive to meet vendors. But there are alot of great Queens vendors you can meet with also.

Just breathe... it's ok. You still have penty of time to book everything... just try your best to go and book what you can now. Is there at least one day that you both can take off..? Then plan the whole day out for everywhere else. Or, since you both don't have time... you do try to do as much research online...with writing emails and all that... then you'll find out most of the information via email rather then driving all over the place... jmo...

Look on the bright side you may have only 2 things book but at least you are going to have great pictures in a beautiful hall

Re: Wedding overload!

Don't worry. I have been enagaged since August as well and I just started the real bulk of my planning. I bought my dress 3 weeks after we got engaged and now I have been seeing other dresses I like while looking for BM dresses. But I take a deep breath and say to myself,' You really fell in love with it and you look fabulous in it'. That gets me through my second guesses.

As far as vendors, you will ALWAYS wonder if you can get a better deal with someone else, it's normal.

Make sure when you are feeling overwhlemed and need to vent you call one of your BM's. that is what they are there for. From my experience they have ALWAYS been a huge help. If you wan to vent to someone who is going through the same thing feel free to give me a call 631-988-7591 my name is Julia.

That goes for anyone else. I believe we can all get through thid if we help each other out.

I actually do have lists, I mean in a way I know who I want and what I want..but then I feel like I have to look everywhere to get the best deal since we are on a tight budget...

Well there's another whole prob with that..I had my permit since I was 16 and I let it expire..and if it expires after 5yrs you have to take the test again...the DMV isn't open weekends, so again, I can't get there without FH! But we are trying to get a day where we can both take off from work and at least get my permit so I can try to learn again! HAHA I am a MESS girls!
