Maybe you are like me and need to set deadlines for things.... I procrastinate way too much and wasnt into the whole planning for a while, but once i started doing the little things, i got my butt into action again!
I stayed up until 5:30AM making a whole list of deadlines!!! I def needed them and hopefully it'll help!!!!!!! Thanks!

i started to feel the same way ... like the summer was going by so fast and i was getting nothing done ... but i think my problem was i was trying to get everything done at once ... for example limo's today, dress tomorrow, flowers the next day ... TOO MUCH! sooo now we are just sticking to a dj until we book one and then on to the next thing!

You still have so much time...so just relax and take it one thing at a time. Some girls have almost everything done and they still have over a year or more so just go at your own pace....everyone does things differently!!! YOUR FINE!!!!

Oh, Christy, honey, if I lived close to you, I'd be glad to drive you !!!! I know how it must feel not to be able to drive!! My Mom never learned how to drive. Dad took her out one time to teach her, screamed at her for almost hitting something, and that was the end of that!!! Do you have a friend who could help you? Mary MOB

Someone please tell me how I've been engaged since Aug of 06, spend literally HOURS everyday on this website and browsing through STDs, CPs, Bo-ks, churches, DJs, Limos..etc...and still somehow I only have my RH and Photographer booked?!?!? I have a deposit on my dress but I'm having second thoughts, I even started to have second thoughts about my photographer..which is all leading to second thoughts about this whole wedding

I mean I at least made it to a florist this past weekend, and we did go on another church hunt..I think we might have found a church..but my goodness..its been 2yrs and I only have 2 major things booked..at this rate I'm not getting married until 2014!!!
It just really s*cks because I work days, FH works nites..we only see eachother at 1AM , with the exception of him dropping me off at work in the morning..so its sooo hard going to see vendors, especially since I'm in Queens, most vendors are in LI and I DONT DRIVE!!! And even worse, my mom doesn't drive..sometimes I really feel stranded..

I know how you feel. I waited until I was 25 to get my license.... There were many reasons... but I was moving to California and knew you cant get around without a car so I made myself do it. Its like a different world now. I drive from Boston to NY to book things and so far most times I have goen without FH which stinks but we do all the research and narrow it down together then I go check out the 1-3 places talk to him on the phone about the options etc. and we make a decision that way. Is it the ideal way... NO! But I have been able to get things done quicker. We just got engaged in May (2 month ago) we have RH booked, minister, Hair & Makeup for me, and DJ. We narrowed it down to 2 photographers as well. What I have done is gone down to NY for 3 days and said this time I am going to check out lets say DJ's and just did it and made a decision right there. We stress about all of these details but in the end its all going to be great
Besides we really do have plenty of time. NY is the onlyplace I know of where people book so far in advance. I am only booking now b/c I have summer off once school starts I cant take off from work. Don't stress... everything will work out and be amazing!!!! Let me know if you need any help. I have gone solo or with one of my MOH's to things, DJ showcases, meet with photographers etc. You are welcome to join when I am in town.... the more the merrier. I will be checking out florists and videographers when I am in town in 2 weeks! Let me know.

I feel the same way you do. Granted, I only got engaged this past March, but I too, only have the hall and church booked. My wedding is almost a year away and we haven't even looked into any dj's or photographers etc. I live in Queens also and don't drive either. I feel your pain girl. I am going to Dinsey this Thursday for my friends wedding so when I get back next week I need to start moving my hump and get the ball rolling.

Well there's another whole prob with that..I had my permit since I was 16 and I let it expire..and if it expires after 5yrs you have to take the test again...the DMV isn't open weekends, so again, I can't get there without FH! But we are trying to get a day where we can both take off from work and at least get my permit so I can try to learn again! HAHA I am a MESS girls!
Don't feel bad, I only got my license a year and a half ago! My friends HATED me for waiting that long!

I know exactly how you feel!!! I feel the same way except all I have booked is my RH and I got my dress. I live in NYC and I don't have a car which is making things a million times harder. Last time I went to see a photog on LI it was somewhat near the train station so we walked from there but honestly it was over a mile and it was a horrible idea because it was dark out on the way back!! The photog didn't even offer to drive us and he knew we had to walk can you believe that!! Hang in there...I guess it has to get better right? You'll get things done eventually.
