I asked my best friend (who happens to be a male)to be my MOH pretty much immediately. My two sisters were a given lol. My two friends (Both named Nicole mind you! lol) And I just recently asked one of the Nicoles friend to be my 2nd MOH. I am going back and forth on some other people. I am a MOH in like two weeks at a wedding and its not that I dont want to include her in the wedding party, but FH doesn't have many close male friends ya know? He has his cousin who is his best man, his other cousin, my 2 brothers, and his friend dave (WHO I HATE!!! UGH!!!).
you have 2 brothers?? I thought it was just patrick? ohh and kristins hubby...
and friend dave- its not my cousin right?? lol

Re: Wedding Party
I got engaged in December and already knew that my cousin, who is like a sister to me, would be my MOH. I wanted to do something special for the girls. But my MOH lives in FL. I found out she was coming to NY for a weekend in March and called my other 3 BM's and told them that she was coming and that I wanted them to come to my house to see her, and when they did I gave them each a different poem and on the bottom asked them to be my BM's/MOH!

I asked my ladies over a year in advance. I want to give them enough time to consider it all... weddings can add up....all the little things.
Ditto...Except my wedding supposed to be this year and now we're all like, OMG come on already!!!
However, I kinda had to remind one girl because we're not super close but she's FH's groomsman's wife and FH asked me to have her in the BP, so we when we re-set the date I was like, 'You're still in right?'

Re: Wedding Party
I asked them right after we got engaged (early '08) and the wedding is Aug 2010. I did not pick my MOH until recently. I know that sounds weird, but what I did was have one of my BM's 'promoted' so to speak to MOH when I was sure who I wanted.
This caused drama b/c my sister assumed it would have been her....
But I figured that they are all really good friends and/or family so that is who would be my party no mater what. Also, I told them they didn't have to give me an answer right away, all though they all did.. and it gave them time to save up $ and figure out travel plans when ever it was convenient for them since almost everyone is from OOT.
I don't think it's ever too early, as long as you are sure who you want. Once you ask, you can't really take it back!
