Wedding Party Introductions

Is anyone else NOT having their wedding party introduced into the reception? Just wondering, b/c I don't really think I want to do this.

I think I am with you on this one. I also HATE HATE HATE that ridiculous bridge made by the bridal party with the bouquets. IMO its corny.

I agree about the bridge thing...We're gonna have the wedding party intro but will pass on the bridge thing...don't want to chance tripping & falling

I like the intros, but won't be doing the bridge thing. We might walk under sabers after the ceremony, and that will be enough 'walking under stuff' for me.

Just DH and I were introduced. It was nice. I think the BP and our parents were a little relieved.

We did a lap around the dance floor then began our first dance

I will have intros - even tho the BP is the MOH, BM and my dog, but it'll be nice to have our parents introduced also. But NO BRIDGES!

haha

I'm afraid I won't fit through the bridge, so I'm really unsure about that. And then stopping in the middle of it, while the photographer gets the perfect shot! Ugh.

We are definitely doing the introduction, but we'll have to see about the bridge.

We had our BP introduced into the reception. We did not do a bridge but had each couple stand apart from each other like this.

Re: Wedding Party Introductions

funny, I was just discussing this with my mom this weekend. I was against introducing the BP and just wanted it to be my FH and I. But my mother felt that it was a chance to recognize the people that helped and supported us and I think she has a point with that. So, now I'm leaning towards doing it. BUT definitely NO bridge!

No, we didn't, but I didn't even have myself introduced. I figured everyone knew we were the bride and groom

But....we only had a MOH and BM and their names were in the programs at the church. I hate being the center of attention and all the photos were about all I could handle in one day.

We did intros and had a bridge. IMO, not corny at all. Traditional yes and that was what I wanted. And it looked nice in pics
Why would you say it is corny? And just a question, why not have intros? I feel that if your BP is spending all that money to be in your wedding, give them recognition. JMO!!!

In retrospect, I would not do it again. The whole introduction part wastes too much time. It takes time lining them up, then making sure everyone is in the right place, and then calling them in.

Re: Wedding Party Introductions

I'm only doing MOH and BM (only party I have). If I had a larger party I would not do it at all. As a guest at other's weddings (friends) sometimes I may not know many of the other attendants and I am really there for the bride and groom anyway. It eats up a lot of time.

I'll be having the parents stand at there tables. Dad is handicapped and walks slowly... it's a big dance floor he'd have to walk across.
