I am trying to find a nice spot to take pics in Suffolk county. Every where I go I am always looking. I am getting married in December I would like flowers but where can I get flowers in December. What are all of my fellow winter brides doing?

Re: Wedding pics
Are there any museums out there? You could call and check what their picture taking policy is.
Plus, I think you can take pics at Oheka and other pretty places, but again, call and ask.

I agree, some of the old mansions in the snow are so majestic -- plan on bringing boots though!

I don't mind boots I think that they would make a excellent accessory to my dress.

Re: Wedding pics
Because it will still be cold out in march, we may take pictures at the Holtsville Ecology Center. It's not huge, but they have an indoor garden that is free, but needs to be reserved. I don't know how inconvenient that would be for you, but it's another option. Let me know if you want the contact #.
Good luck!

Around that time of year there are poinsettas everywhere - indoor pictures would be great with those.

Re: Wedding pics
Hi fellow Winter Bride!
I'm in much the same situation as you, but I'm in Nassau County. I'm looking for indoor photo places, as I'll take outdoor photos at Westbury Manor.
I've phoned Westbury Gardens and Oyster Bay Aboretum regarding photos. Westbury Gardens is closed for indoor photos in December, but I believe you can still take outdoor ones. Oyster Bay does not have indoor photos. . . but they do have outdoor photo areas and it's beautiful.
There is also EAB plaza, which is in Nassau County. For a reservation fee, you can take photos inside - they have some photos available online- but unfortunately they are lighting their christmas tree the day of my wedding, so I can't take photos there either.
Another indoor suggestion is to check out various hotels. If you are staying there, they may allow some formal wedding photos in their lobby, etc.
