I am interested in an outside wedding towards the end of May. I just got engaged and I am really not sure where to even begin to look for places. I am interested primarily where we can get our own catering.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding both beautiful places where I can begin to look and where to look for places to look?
Thanks, Gail

Vinyard?
I would like to also have the option of going inside. The reception outside, but party inside.

Try Wolffer Estates in Sagaponak- they do weddings (they're a vineyard out East) but they have inside & outside.

Re: Wedding Place Recommendations?
The Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue is an outdoor site for a ceremony with a huge deck overlooking the vineyard for cocktails, but also has a full indoor area for receptions. There are also of plenty of other vineyards on the North Shore east end (like Martha Clara, Duck Walk and Pelligrini) that allow you to use their facilities if you bring in your own catering, etc. BE FOREWARNED: bringing in everything is EXTREMELY expensive.

Re: Wedding Place Recommendations?
Prospect Park in Brooklyn is beautiful, they have two or three areas where you can hold your reception/ceremony. The Boat House is so gorgeous, and the picnic house is nice for smaller affairs (plus it's cheaper!).
There's also the Nassau County Museum, I don't know if they do their own catering or not, I think not. And there's a place called Common Grounds in the city which is really cool (we would have done it there but there was construction going on this year).
There's a few mansions that have been turned into museums in the city and one in the Bronx where you can do this too.
If you're set on LI, you'll want to think outside the box. Wedding locations directories may not be the way to go necessarily. First, depending on the size, look at inns or bed and breakfasts that will allow a tented wedding on their grounds....then take a look at other untraditional places like any museum or Vineyard. Vineyard caterers doesn't allow outside catering.
Also, it is expensive to bring everything in, but you can do it less expensively just by looking around and getting a deal...besides, that way you get everything exactly as you want it!
Good luck! FM me with your budget and I might be able to help. We looked at just about everything in our budget in the city, Long Island and Westchester!

Re: Wedding Place Recommendations?
My budget is to not spend more than 50K on the whole wedding.
