CAn anyone suggest a good Wedding Planner book, and do you think they are really necessary?

Re: Wedding planner - a book not a person

Depends on what you want it for. I received one as a gift it's called 'Wedding Planner' by Sara Miller. Peter Pauper Press, Inc. I think it's from Barnes& Noble. It's good for me. It's sort of like a binder, it has different sections ie: Master Budget, About the Bride, Reception, Flowers, etc. Each section has a folder for recepts and whatnot as well as areas to write down all the info; ie; phone numbers. I'm kind of anal about keeping track of everything so it's great for me. I got another one as a gift from 'the knot.com' It's more of a book, but also has sections for everything, and places to write it all down. It's funny and realistic. Hope this helps.

Re: Wedding planner - a book not a person

I think it depends too. I received a few when I got engaged but liked my own method better. I have a folder/binder for each thing. Ex: Florist, DJ, Photo, Video.. etc... For some these are too many folders but for me, it helps keep things organized. So I basically didn't use any that were given to me but used my own.

Re: Wedding planner - a book not a person

I don't think they are necessary. I think I have the same one as Bluebaby08, but I am using it more as a keepsake, so I don't put things in it right away because I want to keep it neat. Rather, I write stuff down after the fact and I do keep all of my contract and receipts in it. If you want something to use everyday to just jot down notes and stuff papers in, I think it makes more sense to either use a binder or an accordian folder (that's what I use for everything.)

Re: Wedding planner - a book not a person

I also got one of those accordian folders, labeled each section: DJ, Flowers, Limos and this holds all the flyers I've received. But my final choice I keep in the smaller planner. Again, it all depend on what you want it for.

Re: Wedding planner - a book not a person

Honestly, I was stupid enough to spend money on one and it was a waste!! I suggest you get a nice 3 hole punch binder with folders to divide your sections.. it's soo much better!

Re: Wedding planner - a book not a person

i got one as a gift but it wasnt very useful (one of those books which doesnt hold anything) the binder ones sounds like it is a good idea, I ending up making my own.
