I have my date and just booked my hall. I am worried if I would need a planner or not. Picking the right vendors is kind of driving me up the wall. I having a hindu wedding first then the reception the day after. Any suggestions on how to plan right?

Re: Wedding planning advice
i didnt book a planner...i prefer doing things myself, im nt good with allowing other people to do things for me. maybe you can call some planners and have them explain their services and how they can help you and then you can decide if its worth it?

Re: Wedding planning advice
if you can afford a wedding planner than go for it!! otherwise what about delegating tasks to close friends and famiy members??? also i know there is alot to plan but you also have the time to do it....just tackle one thing at a time and soon enough you'll have it all done.
ask for as much advise as possible on these boards to....its really amazing how much you have access to right here
good luck

Re: Wedding planning advice
are you having your ceremony at the RH? if not, book that next.... you have some time so you dont need to feel overwhelmed with everything.... i would then move on to next major vendors like photographer/videographer
a wedding planner does make everything easier, if its in your budget than go for it, another option is a day of coordinator

Re: Wedding planning advice
Its kind of hard for me to find family and friends to help out. I dont see much of most of my family and can never depend on them to follow through with something.. and my 2 best friends live far way.

I don't really think having a wedding planner is necessary. You have the time to do this all yourself. You just have to relax. It's all do-able. Next I would scope out ceremony sites (if you're not doing it on site at the RH) and Photographers. Photogs especially bc they book up quick. After that, I would say you have some downtime for the other things. You may want to look into a dress in the coming months. You'll definately want to order one before the summer starts.
