Do you have anyone in your bridal party that has shown their true colors throughout your wedding plans? If so how are you treating the situation? I can't divulge too much info because I think I have some lurkers but I am hurt by some of things one of my BM who has been a friend for many years has done to me, I don't even know if it's worth talking about because ever since I got engaged she has changed 100% I wish I really could say more but I don't want to cause any issues.
Aside from that my true friends have become even truer and I can't imagine not having them around so I'm lucky in that aspect but I just can't help but feel upset about the other side of all this.

If she askes about something I lie and say I havent done that yet or I havent looked into it yet...even though its already booked and done. Its just easier that way I'm not at all one to say something to her about what she does bothering me so I just avoid it at all costs
This is sad.. But Im only to do this now too.. just to aviod drama and conflict

It's sad- that ppl are trying to take away from your moment..
The answer to your question is YES!! i do- and at first i let it bother me soooo much.. and now i am like.. F that.. this is my day- my rules.. take it or leave it...
This is one of the most important day of your life.. Take a deep breathe- karma is a B***** and they will get what's coming to them.. believe me...
in my case, we no longer speak. i'm relieved because it's been all smooth sailing wedding-wise without her nonsense. i'm not saying that's what you should do since idk the details of your situation, but that's just sorta how the cookie crumbled with me and it had very little to do with the wedding.

I know 100 percent what you are going through. I struggle with it everyday and for right now my decision is not to do anything. I am going to try and not let it ruin my day. I am not going to now tell people they 'can't' be in my wedding. It is what it is. If I asked you to be in my wedding then you should be there for me, plain and simple. A few have but honestly most haven't. What I have learned from this is that my fiance is truly my best friend. He is always there for me and has never let me down. We have each other, a house, an amazing dog: I realize that this is all I need. Anything else is extra icing on the cake
Try to think this way and stay positive. I know it is hard trust me, I can say I don't let it bother me, but it does eat at me.... I guess its life, people get wrapped up into their own thing. They get jealous when you are happy, they let you down when you need them most
This is soooo true and also what beram said you learn so much about people through this time in your life, but I focus on the positive we have received so much help, love and support from the places we did not even expect it and for those that dont want to waste energy on me, I have decided not to waste energy on them.

Its the truth that you find out who your true friends are when your planning your wedding.... Its hurts and its comforting at the same time. People stop being foney balonies and start being real, so that you can decided whether or not you want to bring them into your fabulous new life... It is what it is you know...

I think we all probably go through this with at least one but I am beyond hurt by her. From now on I'm just going to spare the details of the wedding with her. I am not going to let her put a damper on everything, she's already done that enough.
I can totally relate to your pain and frustration! For me its not a BM its my MOH that is acting like that. And it REALLY is bothering me and hurting me. And I know deep down it stems from being jealous because I got engaged before her... At first she was sooo excited for me... And lately she doesnt even talk to me about it... And when I do I get this very whateva type of answer out of her... And its REALLY hurtful... =/ I havent decided what I want to do in regards to it, talk to her or just see if it passes but I just dont want her to screw up my bridal shower because shes jealous... =/ Because if she doesnt have her whole heart into it, then shes going to half *** it... Or worse not want me to have stuff that she wants and cant have right now...
I dont know Im sorry for what your going through and if you ever need to just vent FM me! because it def helps to! =))

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Yes, I absolutely agree that the term FRIEND definitely gets more defined during this time.

Re: Wedding planning and real friends
Wow!!! 10!!!
I can only add this. I'm far older than most of the girls on here, and at age 36, I have only a handful of TRUE close friends. When I think of who I would have chosen in my early 20's to be in my bridal party compared to who I actually now want to stand beside me at my wedding, the number is halved, and the actual BP includes only 2 people I would have asked back then.
People don't change, but relationships do. As friends enter new phases in their lives, those who aren't there yet, or aren't happy where they are, lose the connection. It's a natural thing that happens, but it shouldn't effect your wedding or stress you out. Even my FH is considering telling one of his GM's that he's o.k. with him NOT being in the wedding party, and just being a guest, since he doesn't seem to be 'on track' with the rest of them.
Standing up for yourself is standing up for your friendship. When you can tell her how you feel, you solidify how close you are. If you can't be honest, then that might be a sign that the two of you are not as close as you once were, and while that's a shame, it happens. You need your bridal party to be the people to whom you can say ANYTHING and they are 100% there for you.
Good luck, and congrats because your wedding will be beautiful no matter what!

Re: Wedding planning and real friends
Jamie, I'm so sorry you're going through this!!!
I know how you feel, I have someone in my BP, a BM, who has been COMPLETELY unsupportive and it's very hurtful, we've been friends for so long and I feel terrible because we've ALWAYS been there for each other, you can't let it get to you though, you have to focus on the people who HAVE been there for you and who will continue to be there for yo long after the wedding. I'm very lucky to have an MOH who is my best friend, my right arm, shes AMAZING!!!!! so I focus on her and all of the wonderful people and try not to let the negativity infiltrate. If you need to vent, FM me!!!! Stay positive your true friends will ALWAYS be there for you!!!
