Maybe its because I come from a family where marriage isn't really seen as a big deal... maybe it's because I've never planned anything and had it come out any where near what I envisioned and have since just given up on planning things altogether... but thinking about planning my wedding makes me hyperventilate... It doesn't help that I recently went to a friend's (FI's coworker actually) wedding and it was absolutely gorgeous! but other than that I've never been to a wedding and don't even know where to start... I keep putting it off because I have cold feet, not about getting married and spending my life with my FI, just about the planning... He's great and tries to take the lead, but I kno he doesn't kno what he's doing either and it makes me feel bad... luckily I've pushed the date back frequently and I think that 10/2013 should give me enough time to really take things nice and slooooooooow. but I still don't know where I should be starting... I guess my rant is over, thanks for reading.

Wow I didn't know you had to tip... You have to tip like everyone? Individually? Lol. what do you base it off like a percentage off what you're paying them? Like when you go to a restaurant and you tip 20-25%? I feel wedding-planning challenged...

I'm a bit clueless on how who you tip and how much also. I've heard if your dealing directly with the owner you don't tip bcuz they are already pocketing all the $$. I'm going to try and not worry about that too much right now though since that won't need to take place til the day of the wedding. i'm sure we'll figure it out by then.

Re: Wedding planning gives me a panic attack!
Wow... That's a lot of tipping. Lol. And my FI wants our budget to be under $20k.... Can some one point me in the direction of someone who's already accomplished a similar task? Lol I heard DIY stuff while time consuming is fairly cheap... Is that true? I know I ask a lot of questions... Just let me know when I start to get annoying... Lol seriously! I just want to gather as much info as I can before my classes start up and I have to put wedding stress aside in exchange for last semester of school stress...

halls do their gratuities differently.. at sand castle, all of those tips are included in PP price, except bridal attendant and maitre'd.. so it may already be in your price too

Re: Wedding planning gives me a panic attack!
Hi. I am so nervous about planning as well. I have been reading The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner. It seems very helpful. Also, everyone on this site seems so friendly. They give great advice and tips. Post any questions you have and so many wonderful ladies will respond. i love this site.
